Electrical Design Engineer - Intermediate Level

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading building services consultancy in London. The role focuses on delivering sustainable electrical solutions across commercial, residential and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical layouts, power distribution, lighting and lighting‑control systems.
• Conduct site surveys, assess existing installations and produce technical reports.
• Design CCTV, telecoms and fire‑alarm systems in line with client requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Prepare schematics, design proposals and ensure compliance with UK regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in building services electrical design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for client liaison.

Required skills

• Electrical layout and power distribution design.
• Lighting and lighting‑control system design.
• CCTV, telecoms and fire‑alarm system design.
• Site surveying and data collection.
• Knowledge of UK Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), CIBSE guidelines and BSRIA guides.
