Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company that designs and manufactures bespoke electrical control panels for HVAC and Building Management Systems. You will work within a friendly, close‑knit team on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, seeing designs through from concept to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels using CAD software.
• Create electrical circuit diagrams and panel layout drawings.
• Develop systems for HVAC and Building Management System (BMS) applications.
• Collaborate with customers to define technical requirements.
• Provide technical support by telephone when required.
• Assist with electrical testing to verify design integrity and safety.
• Support functional testing of PLC programmes.
• Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of designs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in electrical design, preferably with control panels.
• Ability to produce electrical schematics and panel layouts using CAD tools.
• Experience with HVAC or BMS projects is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (training can be provided).
• Relevant electrical qualifications are a plus.
