Electrical Design Engineer – Power Transmission & P&C

About the role
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with a Power Transmission / Protection & Control background to join a fast‑growing engineering firm working on National Grid projects. The role is office‑based in Newcastle, with occasional client visits and the possibility to work from home.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver end‑to‑end design work on protection & control (P&C) projects.
- Create schematics, cable block layouts and diagrams.
- Prepare bills of materials and design intent documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments and client teams.
- Occasionally visit client sites and work remotely as needed.
Required profile
- Qualified Electrical Design Engineer or equivalent.
- Experience in Power Transmission and P&C projects.
- Able to commute to Newcastle upon Tyne.
Required skills
- Electrical design using CAD tools.
- Schematic and cable‑block design.
- Knowledge of protection & control systems.
