Electrical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a new team on a multi‑million‑pound project in Plymouth. Working onsite, you will help maintain the building’s mechanical and electrical services, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safe and effective operation of mechanical and electrical building services, systems and equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, preventive maintenance and record‑keeping in line with SFG20, NHS HTM’s and health & safety standards.
• Support equipment reliability, availability and performance through planned maintenance activities.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and equipment faults.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call support as required.
• Produce accurate documentation and work‑related records.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical qualifications.
• Experience on healthcare/NHS projects or similar regulated environments.
• Practical experience in engineering or maintenance roles within building services.
• Ability to work safely, professionally and efficiently.
• Strong communication and customer‑facing skills.

Required skills

• Electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ).
• Knowledge of building services systems.
• Inspection, maintenance and fault‑finding techniques.
• Familiarity with SFG20 and NHS HTM standards.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
