Electrical Engineer – Contract (Farnborough)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer on a contract basis to support a well‑established engineering organisation in Farnborough. The role involves maintaining and upgrading industrial pump systems and associated electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair on industrial pump systems and related equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on pumps, motors, variable speed drives, control panels and instrumentation.
• Test, inspect and commission electrical installations to industry standards.
• Support installation and upgrade projects for pump stations and plant equipment.
• Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with current electrical regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation, maintenance records and certifications.

Required profile

• Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Proven experience with industrial pumps or pump‑station environments.
• Strong background in electrical installation, maintenance and fault finding.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Good understanding of electrical compliance standards and safe working practices.
