Electrical Engineer – High Voltage Training & Critical Site

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a critical site in Sunderland on a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern. The role offers high‑voltage training, a competitive salary and the chance to work with state‑of‑the‑art equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on single and three‑phase power systems.
• Maintain and test motors, generators (on/off load), UPS, LV/HV switching, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Service HVAC components including AHUs, FCUs, VAVs and CRAC units, as well as sprinkler systems and pumps.
• Operate building management system (BMS) and produce quotations.
• Maintain health & safety logbooks, conduct risk assessments and manage permits to work.

Required profile

• Fully qualified in electrical installations (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum three years’ experience in commercial environments.
• Career‑driven, motivated and able to work shift patterns.
• Experience in critical environments and high‑voltage switching is desirable but not essential.
