Electrical Engineer

About the role
We are looking for a hands‑on Electrical Engineer to keep our food manufacturing plant running safely and efficiently. You will work closely with production and engineering teams, using both planned maintenance and rapid fault‑finding to minimise downtime.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance according to the CMMS schedule.
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and restore equipment safely.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on ovens, conveyors, mixers, weighers and packaging lines.
- Support line change‑overs and start‑ups to reduce downtime.
- Record all engineering activity in the CMMS.
- Contribute to reliability and performance improvement projects.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations and modifications.
- Maintain clean, organised work areas following 5S principles.
Required profile
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG or food.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding abilities.
- Understanding of Health & Safety, food hygiene and GMP standards.
- Willingness to work a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern.
