Electrical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a permanent Electrical Engineer to join a leading manufacturing client near Washington. The role involves designing, developing and delivering electrical systems across a variety of projects, supporting both design and installation phases.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver electrical systems for multiple projects.
• Create and review CAD designs and schematics, ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with estimators to produce accurate cost estimates and schedules.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams to translate designs into final products.
• Manage project timelines, resources and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Maintain quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and promote a culture of safety and innovation.

Required profile

• HNC or higher in an electrical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations.
• Understanding of BS EN 61439 and IEC standards.
• Ability to read and produce electrical schematics.
