Electrical Engineer – RAF Fairford (Defence Estate)

About the role

Join a leading facilities and engineering services provider as an Electrical Engineer supporting a large defence estate in Gloucestershire. You will maintain critical infrastructure across operational facilities, commercial buildings, hangars and residential accommodation in a highly secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and fixed‑wire testing.
• Inspect distribution boards and perform electrical compliance checks.
• Test emergency lighting systems and carry out remedial work.
• Diagnose and repair faults on commercial and domestic installations.
• Execute minor electrical installations and upgrades.
• Support specialist electrical infrastructure maintenance.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs on an on‑call rota, meeting a one‑hour response target.
• Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and site colleagues.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in commercial, industrial or large‑scale facilities environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
