Electrical Engineer Surveyor – Portsmouth & South Coast

About the role

The Electrical Engineer Surveyor will operate both independently and as part of a regional team to deliver high‑quality examinations of electrical installations across Portsmouth, Southampton and the South Coast, ensuring safety and compliance for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical safety tests on portable appliances at customer premises in line with the Code of Practice and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Produce and distribute professional inspection reports within daily timescales.
• Maintain accurate data entry in all operational systems and adhere to Bureau Veritas health and safety processes.
• Provide technical and legislative advice to clients, team members and external bodies.
• Develop and sustain excellent client relationships while meeting service standards.
• Identify business opportunities and support regional KPI achievement.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical knowledge and experience in a similar inspection role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literate with ability to use inspection and reporting software.
• Good understanding of market trends, industry legislation and health & safety requirements.
• Valid UK driving licence and GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

Required skills

• Electrical safety testing of portable equipment.
• Knowledge of 18th Edition regulations.
• Proficiency with City & Guilds Part 1, 2 and 3 qualifications.
• Familiarity with City & Guilds 2365 Diploma and 2391/2394/5 courses.
