Electrical Estimator

About the role

The Electrical Estimator will produce accurate, competitive cost estimates for electrical building services projects across the retail sector. You will work on new store builds, refurbishments and maintenance projects, translating client specifications into detailed tender submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions using Trimble estimating software and Excel.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documents to understand scope and compile material, labour and subcontractor costings.
• Review client specifications for technical compliance, identify risks and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, commercial and operations teams to clarify requirements and support tender processes.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries and supplier information.
• Develop and sustain relationships with suppliers and specialist subcontractors, keeping abreast of market pricing.

Required profile

• Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work in a fast‑paced team environment.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience using Trimble estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
