Electrical & Fire/Security Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced electrician, fire‑alarm engineer or security‑systems specialist to join a leading Further Education provider’s Construction Skills Centre in Oxford. As an Electrical & Fire/Security Lecturer you will inspire apprentices and adult learners, delivering both practical workshop sessions and theory‑based classroom teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching across electrical installation, fire alarm and security programmes.
• Assess learner progress, conduct reviews and provide feedback to support qualification achievement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive workshop environment and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Collaborate with industry partners and colleagues to enhance curriculum relevance.
• Promote professional behaviours, teamwork and employability skills among learners.

Required profile

• Level 3 NVQ/Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
• Significant industry experience in electrical installation, building services, fire alarm or electronic security systems.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of professionals.
• Willingness to obtain a teaching qualification if not already held.
