Electrical Instrumentation Trainer – Technical Education Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics, Automation or Instrumentation Engineer to transition into a full‑time teaching position. You will join a leading technical college in Cumbria, delivering practical and classroom‑based training to apprentices and engineering learners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver training modules covering PLCs, automation systems, robotics, embedded systems, electronics and process control.
• Conduct hands‑on workshops using state‑of‑the‑art engineering facilities.
• Assess learner progress and provide feedback to support their development.
• Collaborate with college staff to continuously improve curriculum and teaching methods.

Required profile

• Strong background in Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation or Control Systems.
• Industry experience in sectors such as nuclear, power generation, manufacturing, chemical processing or industrial automation.
• Passion for sharing knowledge and developing the next generation of engineers.
• Willingness to undertake full teacher training and obtain a recognised teaching qualification.
