Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Dunstable (Days Only)

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business in Dunstable. The role operates on a days‑only schedule within a fast‑paced FMCG environment, offering the chance to impact the engineering department directly.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine plant checks on chillers, compressors, vacuum systems and other machinery.
• Assess equipment, report defects and ensure unsafe machinery is taken out of service.
• Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns in collaboration with Shift Managers.
• Record issues and corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
• Conduct stock checks and request parts as needed.
• Perform ad‑hoc engineering tasks as directed to support wider business goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an FMCG environment (food or pharmaceutical sector is a plus).
• Level 3 electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail, logical problem‑solving and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with workshop tools (e.g., mitre saw, pillar drill, hand tools).

What we offer

• Salary up to £50,000 per year.
• Shift pattern: Monday‑Thursday 8:00‑16:30, Friday 8:00‑16:00 (days only).
