Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Dunstable

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business in Dunstable. The role operates on a days‑only shift pattern, supporting a fast‑paced FMCG environment and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine checks on chillers, compressors, vacuum systems and related plant equipment.
• Identify and report defects, ensuring unsafe machinery is taken out of service.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and work with shift managers to restore operation.
• Record issues and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct stock checks, order spare parts and support ad‑hoc engineering tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an FMCG or similar manufacturing setting.
• Level 3 electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and collaborate across teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLCs and electrical maintenance.
• Proficiency with workshop tools such as mitre saws, pillar drills and hand tools.
