Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding engineering team at a leading manufacturing business in North West England. You will maintain and improve a wide range of industrial equipment, supporting new line installations and continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment.
• Support installation, commissioning and integration of new equipment and production lines.
• Work with the projects team on machinery upgrades and site improvements.
• Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and root‑cause analysis.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement opportunities to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and operations teams while adhering to health & safety legislation.

Required profile

• HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding skills on production machinery.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and carry out circuit modifications.
• Proactive, team‑focused communication style.

Required skills

• Electrical fault‑finding
• PLC programming (experience with Siemens systems preferred)
• Motors, drives/inverters
• Pumps, sensors and encoders
• Interpretation of electrical schematics
• Knowledge of extrusion or continuous‑process manufacturing (desirable)
