Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Shift Role in Manufacturing

About the role

Our client is a well‑established UK manufacturing business in the building products sector, based in the Cheshire area. They are looking for a Shift Engineer to maintain and repair production machinery, ensuring efficient plant operations within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Perform equipment inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work closely with production team leaders to minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance background with previous maintenance engineering experience.
• Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to undertake risk assessments and maintain a tidy work environment.
• Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern.
