Electrical Maintenance Engineer (University Campus)

About the role

This permanent, in‑house position supports a large university estate in Reading. You will work a predictable 36‑hour week, delivering both planned and reactive electrical maintenance while enjoying strong job security and a balanced work‑life environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across campus buildings.
• Carry out fault finding, testing and compliance work to meet statutory electrical standards.
• Maintain safe systems of work and ensure all electrical installations remain compliant.
• Participate in the on‑call rota after an initial period, receiving an annual allowance.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent) with 18th Edition qualification.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault‑finding within a similar environment.
• Holding 2391 Testing & Inspection certification (eligible for additional payment).
• JIB Gold Card holder (eligible for additional payment).
