Electrical Maintenance Engineer – University Campus (Reading)

About the role

This permanent position is based on a large university campus in Reading and offers a stable, in‑house senior electrician role. You will work within a structured 36‑hour week, benefiting from generous holiday entitlement and a clear on‑call allowance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across campus buildings.
• Perform fault finding, testing and compliance works to ensure safe systems of work.
• Maintain statutory electrical compliance and carry out required inspections.
• Join the on‑call rota after the initial period, receiving an annual allowance.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and 18th Edition qualification.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault‑finding.
• Holding 2391 Testing & Inspection qualification (additional payment if held).
• Holding a JIB Gold Card (additional payment if held).
