Electrical Maintenance Technician – Healthcare Facility

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a busy healthcare facility in Glasgow. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance of electrical plant and building services to ensure safe, uninterrupted operation of the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.
• Maintain generators, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, air handling units, water and pressure systems.
• Respond to breakdowns and unplanned issues within agreed response times.
• Perform minor installations, repairs and variation requests.
• Prepare and follow risk assessments, method statements and permit‑to‑work documentation.
• Complete maintenance reports, certificates and service records accurately.
• Use specialist testing, calibration and diagnostic equipment as required.
• Liaise with supervisors, contractors and suppliers regarding maintenance activities.
• Participate in an on‑call rota to provide 24/7 support and assist at additional sites when needed.

Required profile

• Completed a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
• Minimum two years’ experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building services.
• Ability to read technical documentation and work safely.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to join an on‑call rota and obtain a DBS check.

• Competitive hourly rate of £16.37‑£17.31.
