Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

As an Electrical Craftsperson at Hope Works, you will join a multi‑disciplinary maintenance team responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant operation of all electrical systems, plant and equipment in a demanding heavy‑industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver multi‑skilled electrical maintenance across the site.
• Maintain and protect the integrity of HV & LV electrical networks.
• Carry out planned inspections, preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on fixed and rotating plant.
• Perform electrical inspection and testing to BS7671 (18th Edition), including fault finding and defect repair.
• Troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems and maintain large motors and drive systems.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and follow schedules/procedures.
• Champion health, safety and environmental standards, contributing to risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Support and mentor trainees within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial setting.
• Strong fault‑finding ability and a safety‑first attitude.
• Qualified Electrical Engineer or equivalent time‑served/apprentice training.
• Knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and electrical isolation procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and use basic IT systems.
