Electrical Maintenance Technician – Temp to Perm

About the role

This temporary-to-permanent position is with a prestigious higher‑education institution in London. You will join a multi‑skilled estates and maintenance team, delivering both planned and reactive electrical services across a complex campus.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical plant, equipment and systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Ensure all work complies with statutory regulations and industry best practice.
• Record activities and generate job reports using CAFM systems.
• Support project works, equipment replacements and infrastructure upgrades.
• Assist in preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance.
• Provide excellent customer service to building users and stakeholders.

Required profile

• 18th Edition City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical discipline.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing electrical building services systems.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Effective communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy maintenance team.
