Electrical Production Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Production Engineer to join our Birmingham production, assembly and test facility. The role will support the manufacture of naval electrical equipment and ensure compliance with defence and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the manufacture and assembly of naval electrical equipment to engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
• Work closely with production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Review engineering information to ensure manufacturability and support new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
• Identify and implement improvements in quality, efficiency and production processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance across design, production, purchasing and quality teams.
• Act as electrical subject‑matter expert for continuous improvement projects and mentor electrical assemblers and panel wirers.
• Maintain compliance with ISO, IPC and defence‑specific standards, conducting inspections, audits and sign‑offs as required.

Required profile

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical assembly within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working to defence or ATEX standards is desirable.
