Electrical Safety Test Engineer – Product Testing

About the role

The Electrical Safety Test Engineer will work on the client site near Stansted, testing, evaluating and reporting on electrical products to ensure compliance with relevant safety standards. The role involves direct interaction with customers and collaboration across operations, sales and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical safety testing according to IEC 61010, IEC 62368 and related standards.
• Evaluate product documentation and verify compliance with applicable test requirements.
• Generate detailed test reports for customers and certification bodies.
• Provide technical support to operations, sales and marketing departments.
• Conduct fault finding down to the component level when required.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical/electronic formal qualifications.
• Good IT skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word and data‑retention systems.
• Experience working within a Quality Management System.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Knowledge of one or more electrical safety standards (e.g., IEC/EN 62368, IEC 61558, UL 62368, IEC 61010).
• Desirable experience in product safety testing, safety‑critical design, certification schemes, ISO 17025 accredited laboratory work, and component‑level fault finding.
