Electrical Shift Engineer

About the role

Join a market‑leading process manufacturer as an Electrical Shift Engineer, working a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern (days and nights). You will be responsible for keeping high‑performing plant equipment running safely and efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production facilities to meet SKU output, quality standards and production schedules while managing operating costs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to minimise breakdowns, outages and downtime, and support Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Adhere to Environmental Management System standards, assist with pest control, and manage hazard/accident reporting.
• Support customer complaint resolution through quality checks, root‑cause investigations and operational improvements.
• Work with the Production Manager and Shift Lead to identify bottlenecks, drive plant efficiency and assist with audit‑related improvement projects.
• Deputise for senior staff and participate in emergency or incident response when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Electrical Shift Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance standards.
• Ability to work the 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern and adapt to both day and night crews.
• Willingness to travel from Penrith, Keswick, Kendal, Appleby‑in‑Westmorland or Ullswater to the site.
