Electrical Shift Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturer operating a highly automated production facility in Middleton. The role involves working with modern automation and robotic technology in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring the reliability of a range of production machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance, fault finding and planned preventative maintenance on automated production equipment.
• Respond to reactive breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to equipment reliability programmes.

Required profile

• Electrical maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Hands‑on experience with planned preventative, reactive maintenance and breakdown response.
• Ability to work independently on shift and manage workload confidently.
• NVQ Level 2 or higher in an engineering discipline.

Required skills

• Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• PLC fault‑finding experience.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, inverters, conveyors and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with automated machinery and robotics.
