About the role
This full‑time position (37 hours per week) supports the Structural Technologies department at the Slough and Langley campuses. The Electrical Technician ensures the workshops run safely and efficiently, assisting staff and students in practical sessions.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electrical workshop equipment.
- Manage stores and stock levels of consumables.
- Assist teachers during practical sessions and support students during End Point Assessments.
- Keep the workshop environment clean and organised.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections.
- Adhere to college policies on health, safety, and risk management.
Required profile
- Level 2 trade qualification in Electrical.
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
- Experience working in a workshop with machining tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised, methodical work practice.
- Desirable: experience working with young people or in an educational setting.
