Electrical/Instrumentation Craftsperson

About the role

Join the engineering team at Holmen Board and Paper’s Workington Mill, a leading paperboard producer in the Lake District region. As an Electrical/Instrumentation Craftsperson you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the mill through maintenance and plant modifications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering resources for preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Support plant modification projects with electrical and instrumentation expertise.
• Diagnose faults, source parts via the engineering management system and complete work orders.
• Follow health, safety, environmental procedures and the permit‑to‑work/isolation system.
• Maintain the mill in optimal and safe condition.

Required profile

• Recognised Engineering apprenticeship (minimum NVQ Level 3).
• At least one year of practical experience in a process industry.
• Computer literate with the Windows Office suite.
• Working knowledge of plant management databases.
• Relevant health and safety training, preferably IOSH Working Safety.

Required skills

• Electrical/Instrumentation competence.
• Proficiency with Windows Office applications.
• Experience using plant management database systems.
• IOSH Working Safety training.
