Electrician – Electrical Testing & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrical Testing Electrician to join Mears Group’s team in Milton Keynes. This full‑time permanent position involves hands‑on field work maintaining, repairing and installing electrical systems in new‑build domestic properties.

Key responsibilities

• Repair lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards and other electrical components during testing.
• Inspect and test electrical installations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Replace or repair faulty switches, outlets, light fittings and circuit breakers.
• Work independently or within a team to meet daily testing targets.
• Communicate with tenants/residents about repairs and outcomes.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and adhere to health‑and‑safety policies.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs, including out‑of‑hours shifts when required.
• Use IT systems to manage and prioritise workload.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2).
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (or 17th Edition with progression).
• Full UK driving licence with a clean record.
• Previous experience in domestic or social‑housing electrical work.
• Inspection and Testing 2391 (or equivalent 2394/2395) qualification.
