Electrician – Full‑time Permanent (40 hrs) – Basildon, Essex

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join Morgan Sindall Property Services’ repairs and maintenance team in Basildon, Essex. The role is full‑time permanent (40 hours per week) and involves delivering safe, compliant electrical services to social housing residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, installations, testing and condition reporting across a portfolio of properties.
• Diagnose faults, complete repairs and produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and other inspections.
• Maintain compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) and company standards.
• Use electronic systems to record work, manage van stock and achieve high first‑time‑fix rates.
• Undertake basic multi‑skilled tasks as required to support the wider team.

Required profile

• Qualified electrician with a valid UK driving licence (minimum 12 months).
• Hold an ECS Card – Gold or be working towards one.
• Relevant Level 3 qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in electrotechnical services.
• Experience of PAT testing and electrical testing/inspection.
