Electrician – Maintenance & Installation (Bishop's Stortford)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Electrician to join a leading maintenance provider serving rail, education, health, local authority and church sectors across Southern England. Based in Bishop’s Stortford, you will work Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑17:30, delivering both reactive and planned electrical services for a variety of client assets.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission electrical systems on client sites.
• Carry out reactive repairs and scheduled Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on all assets.
• Assess plant condition and produce “Life Expired” reports for equipment no longer fit for purpose.
• Identify required repairs after site visits and support the Contracts Manager with cost estimates.
• Order materials, receive deliveries and verify against delivery notes with the site foreman.
• Complete worksheets and material paperwork for submission to Head Office.
• Follow health & safety procedures and attend mandatory training and refresher courses.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ hands‑on experience as an electrician.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 18th Edition inspection and testing standards.
• Possession of a PTS Card is desirable but not essential.
• Strong organisational abilities and clear communication skills.
