Electrician – Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Electrician to join a leading maintenance provider serving rail, education, health, local authority and church sectors across Southern England. The role focuses on planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical work on a variety of client assets.

Key responsibilities

• Install electrical systems and carry out reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) on client assets.
• Ensure work meets client specifications and is recorded in asset registers.
• Assess plant condition and produce “Life Expired” reports for unserviceable equipment.
• Identify required repairs after site visits and support the Contracts Manager with cost estimates.
• Order materials, receive deliveries and verify delivery notes with site foremen.
• Complete worksheets and material paperwork for head office.
• Follow health & safety protocols, attend mandatory training and refresher courses.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of field experience as an electrician.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 18th Edition inspection and testing.
• Systematic and logical approach to tasks.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• PTS Card preferred but not essential.

• Electrical installation and maintenance.
• Planned preventive maintenance (PPM) procedures.
• Use of PTS Card (if held).
