Electrician – Stockport, Cheshire & Wigan

About the role
We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team covering Stockport, Cheshire and Wigan. You will work on a 42‑hour week, providing responsive repairs, inspections and emergency support for social housing properties.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and carry out responsive repairs, aiming for first‑time fixes and high customer satisfaction.
- Perform inspections, testing and remedial work in void properties.
- Attend emergency appointments, including out‑of‑hours calls as required.
- Work in line with statutory legislation, licences, accreditations and the relevant Safety Management System.
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with customers, colleagues and local stakeholders.
- Ensure work is completed safely, leaving customers’ homes clean and secure.
- Use PDA/mobile technology to receive, update and manage repair jobs efficiently.
- Produce accurate records, including before‑and‑after photographs and detailed job notes.
Required profile
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures).
- C&G 2382‑18 and C&G 2391 certifications (or equivalent).
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Customer‑focused attitude with pride in delivering high‑quality work.
- Positive, willing to learn and support colleagues.
- Reliable, professional and committed to safe working practices.
- Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
Required skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures).
- C&G 2382‑18 – Requirements for Electrical Installations 18th Edition.
- C&G 2391 – Electrical Inspection and Testing.
