Electro Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Our client is looking for an Electro Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Harlow team on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will be responsible for creating conceptual and detailed designs for new and existing products, ensuring they meet engineering standards and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet‑metal enclosures and structural components.
• Design low‑voltage power distribution systems.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Onshape or similar tools.
• Generate bills of materials and manufacturing instructions.
• Maintain compliance with company engineering standards and ISO 9001 quality system.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance and technical sales teams.
• Produce comprehensive project and manufacturing documentation.
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing process.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or HNC/D in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience in electro‑mechanical design of electrical distribution equipment.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Onshape or equivalent).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Commercial awareness and effective communication skills.

• Bill of Materials creation and manufacturing documentation.
