Electronics Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Electronics Engineer to join a leading engineering business developing world‑class marine sonar systems. You will be part of a close‑knit team, contributing to the full product lifecycle from concept through to production and support.

Key responsibilities

• Design analogue and digital electronic hardware for advanced sonar applications.
• Capture schematics and create multi‑layer PCBs using Altium Designer.
• Develop embedded firmware and support FPGA‑based designs.
• Perform hardware testing, validation and fault finding.
• Support development of automated test equipment and Design for Test (DFT) processes.
• Produce accurate engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality products.
• Assist production, product improvements and through‑life engineering activities.

Required profile

• Degree (2:1 or above) in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic design.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer.
• Proven ability to test and troubleshoot electronic hardware.
• Good communication skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude.
