Electronics Repair Technician – Medical Devices

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Repair Technician to join a specialist medical-device repair team in Theale. You will work on high-value diagnostic imaging equipment such as MRI systems, ultrasound probes, CT/X-ray units and RF power amplifiers, applying component-level fault-finding and repair skills in a laboratory environment.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, fault-find and repair electronic and medical devices to component level.
- Perform testing, calibration and quality-assurance activities following manufacturer procedures.
- Reverse-engineer assemblies when schematics are unavailable and develop new repair methodologies.
- Source components, parts and repair information and maintain accurate repair records.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements and health-and-safety policies.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering and customer-facing teams to meet daily production targets.
- Support complex diagnostics across RF, analogue and digital systems.
- Lead major healthcare transformation projects across the UK.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years UK-based experience in component-level electronics repair.
- HNC/HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or military training.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
Required skills
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power supplies.
- Experience with RF systems, coils and power amplifiers.
- Knowledge of PCB assemblies (SMT and through-hole), analogue and digital electronics.
- Understanding of power electronics and diagnostic imaging technologies.
