About the role
An experienced Electronics Team Lead is required to join an innovative engineering organisation delivering advanced technology solutions for safety-critical and defence-related applications. The role combines hands-on technical work with people management, leading the design and development of electrical and electronic systems throughout the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Lead electrical and electronic design activities from concept through to production and in-service support.
- Provide technical expertise in analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Ensure projects meet agreed cost, quality, and schedule targets.
- Support manufacturing, installation, testing, and product support activities.
- Mentor and develop engineers through technical reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to engineering standards, technical proposals, bids, and project estimates.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with verification and validation processes, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Undertake line-management duties including resource planning, performance management, and recruitment support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement new engineering processes.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading electronics design teams in safety-critical or defence environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise in analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Experience mentoring engineers and managing team performance.
- Ability to work closely with customers, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
