Electronics Test Technician – Full‑Time (Temp‑to‑Perm)

About the role

We are seeking an Electronics Test Technician to join a dynamic team in Devizes. The position starts as a temporary assignment with the aim of becoming permanent, offering hands‑on work on electronic and electromechanical assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in electronic and electromechanical assemblies to component level, often without full schematics.
• Repair printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies, restoring them to full operational condition.
• Perform soldering and rework using surface‑mount and through‑hole techniques.
• Read and interpret circuit diagrams, or analyse circuitry directly when documentation is limited.
• Operate standard electronic test equipment and adapt to unfamiliar tools as required.
• Assist in developing or improving practical test methods and equipment.
• Manage multiple repair tasks efficiently while maintaining high quality.
• Conduct thorough testing of repaired units to ensure reliability.
• Maintain clear records of diagnostics, repairs, and components used.

Required profile

• Practical experience in component‑level fault finding and repair; formal electronics qualification is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong understanding of electronic components and circuit operation.
• Methodical, disciplined approach with excellent written documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical problems.
• Comfortable working within a small, close‑knit technical team.

Required skills

• Soldering and rework techniques (surface‑mount and through‑hole).
• Printed circuit board (PCB) repair.
• Use of electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Circuit diagram interpretation and circuit analysis.
