Electronics Test Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join a growing manufacturing business in the South West of England. The successful candidate will support testing, inspection and repair of electronic and electromechanical products, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards before delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bench and functional testing of electronic and electromechanical equipment.
• Diagnose faults using circuit diagrams, schematics and test procedures.
• Carry out component‑level fault finding, soldering, de‑soldering and rework of PCBs.
• Inspect products and assemblies for compliance with quality and operational standards.
• Complete testing documentation, repair reports and quality records accurately.
• Use test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies and other diagnostic tools.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and final product sign‑off activities.
• Identify recurring issues and provide feedback to production and engineering teams.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an electronics test, repair, service, manufacturing or production environment.
• Confident reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good record‑keeping and documentation skills.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.
