EL/PL Fraud Litigated Fee Earner – Claims Management

About the role

The File Handler will manage a caseload of suspected fraudulent EL/PL cases on behalf of insurance clients. The role requires a forensic and analytical approach to employer and public liability issues.

Key responsibilities

• Consider concepts and merits of primary and secondary liability in employer and public liability claims.
• Handle matters in accordance with client SLA’s.
• Produce initial reports, set strategy and manage claims through to resolution.
• Review evidence such as witness statements, GP records, occupational health and property inspection reports.
• Conduct investigations, CMCs and applications.
• Instruct counsel, investigators and medical or other experts.
• Prepare trial bundles, attend conferences and trials with counsel.

Required profile

• Experience handling a caseload of EL/PL files.
• Previous litigation experience.
• Positive, confident and enthusiastic attitude.
• Strong advocacy, listening and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• High‑level analytical skills with great attention to detail.
• Capability to make decisions, delegate effectively and anticipate problems.
• Resilience and self‑control.
