Embalmer – Funeralcare Specialist

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Embalmer to join our Co‑op Funeralcare team in Carlisle. You will work across a variety of shifts, providing dignified care for the deceased while supporting families from diverse backgrounds.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, transport and care for the deceased with professionalism and respect.
- Carry out practical physical assessments and embalming procedures daily.
- Support colleagues by sharing knowledge of embalming benefits.
- Maintain high standards of detail, accuracy and health‑and‑safety compliance.
- Act as a trusted ambassador for Co‑op within the local community.
Required profile
- Possession of a BIE (British Institute of Embalmers) qualification or equivalent.
- Practical, can‑do attitude with flexibility to work varied shifts.
- Caring nature, emotional maturity and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Commitment to delivering a perfect final tribute for each client.
