Embroidery Designer – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Role

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a unique opportunity to join a renowned London‑based luxury womenswear house as an Embroidery Designer. Working closely with the Founder & Creative Director and the Design Director, you will shape the embroidery and embellishment direction for seasonal, bridal and special‑project collections.

Key responsibilities

• Research historical, artistic and cultural references to inspire new embroidery concepts.
• Create original hand‑drawn and digital motifs, layout designs and placement specifications.
• Develop embroidery and embellishment across seasonal, bridal and special‑project collections.
• Collaborate with external embroidery ateliers and suppliers, reviewing swatches, strike‑offs and prototypes.
• Provide detailed feedback, track development progress and ensure each piece meets the brand’s exacting quality standards.
• Work with Product Development to balance creative ambition with technical feasibility.
• Explore and introduce new techniques, materials and embellishment innovations.

Required profile

• Highly creative designer with outstanding hand‑drawing and illustration abilities.
• Refined eye for colour, composition and detail.
• Passion for embroidery, embellishment and luxury craftsmanship.
• Strong appreciation of luxury fashion and excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Previous experience with embroidery and embellishment is desirable but not mandatory; exceptional artistic ability and willingness to learn are essential.
