EMC Engineer – Defence Electronics (Hybrid, £55k)

About the role

We are seeking an EMC Engineer to join a specialist engineering team within a leading UK defence organisation. You will provide technical expertise in Electromagnetic Compatibility across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to testing and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide EMC guidance and technical support throughout product development.
• Review electronic designs to identify EMC risks and compliance issues.
• Develop and maintain qualification strategies, test plans and documentation.
• Support verification, validation and certification activities.
• Investigate technical issues and deliver practical engineering solutions.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure EMC requirements and standards are met.
• Assist testing activities, review results and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Physics, EMC or related field.
• Strong understanding of EMC principles and their application to electronic systems.
• Experience with electronic or electrical product design, development, testing or qualification.
• Ability to assess designs for EMC risks and compliance considerations.
• Proven ability to produce technical documentation, reports, specifications or test plans.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
