Emergency Operations Centre Officer – Multiple Shifts

About the role

The Emergency Operations Centre Officer role supports Bristol City Council’s 24/7 critical response services. Officers handle emergency telecare calls, alarm monitoring, CCTV surveillance and provide reassurance to vulnerable service users.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and triage emergency telecare and alarm calls, arranging appropriate response.
• Operate telecare, security alarm, surveillance camera, telephony, intercom, radio, car‑park and concierge systems.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely communication with internal and external partners.
• Work across day, night and part‑time shift patterns, including bank holidays and weekends.
• Deliver solution‑oriented customer care and uphold service standards.

Required profile

• UK residency of at least three years (required for Police NPPV2 FULL vetting).
• Ability to work creatively and independently in a high‑pressure environment.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with the public and partner organisations.
• Willingness to undergo Police vetting and an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Good IT proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office.
