About the role
The EPRR Manager provides strategic leadership for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response across University Hospitals of Leicester. Working closely with the Director of Urgent and Emergency Care and the COO, the role ensures the Trust embeds robust EPRR practices and complies with national standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and drive the strategic direction for EPRR, aligning the work programme with local, regional and national partners.
- Oversee delivery of the EPRR Work Programme, ensuring compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, Health & Social Care Act 2022, NHS Act and NHS England Core Standards.
- Provide oversight of the Trust’s Single Point of Contact, managing time‑sensitive communications, directives and information requests from commissioners and partners.
- Coordinate the Trust’s response to external inquiries, investigations and incident follow‑up.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland and NHS regional EPRR colleagues.
- Act on behalf of the Director on Call when delegated, providing advice and guidance to tactical and operational teams during incidents.
Required profile
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in emergency preparedness, resilience or related public health domains.
- Strong knowledge of UK health legislation and NHS EPRR standards.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships across health and emergency services.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for managing high‑priority information flows.
