About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our specialist SEMH provision in Horley. Working on a term‑time basis, you will help pupils develop the emotional and social skills they need to succeed academically and personally.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted emotional‑literacy interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Support pupils in building self‑esteem, emotional regulation and social skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to create cohesive support plans.
- Monitor progress, keep accurate records and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive school environment.
Required profile
- ELSA training (or willingness to undertake training).
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in SEMH or SEN settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Calm, patient and flexible approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
