Employee Relations Advisor – Fixed-Term (6‑12 months)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join a busy HR team in Liverpool on an initial six‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extending to twelve months. You will provide practical, timely advice to managers on a wide range of employee relations issues and help ensure a responsive HR service.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers on absence, disciplinary, grievance and suspension cases.
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring effective case progression and accurate record‑keeping.
• Support formal processes by preparing documentation, arranging meetings and capturing key information.
• Liaise with Occupational Health providers and handle related reports.
• Assist with Employment Tribunal administration, including document preparation and upload.
• Collaborate with the wider HR function to deliver consistent advisory services.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Employee Relations Advisor, HR Advisor or similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a busy caseload covering absence, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Confidence delivering advice to managers, especially over the phone.
• Background in high‑volume HR advisory, shared services or employee relations environments.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
