Employee Relations Specialist

About the role

This field‑based position supports a people‑led organisation across the UK, delivering hands‑on employee relations (ER) advice, complex case management and tribunal support. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping shape best‑practice people initiatives and ensuring a positive, inclusive workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic, legally compliant advice on ER and engagement matters.
• Collaborate with HR specialists on wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, and reward projects.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with legislation and culture.
• Manage day‑to‑day ER activity, including complex casework and escalations.
• Design and deliver ER training for HR teams and line managers.
• Support external solicitors with tribunal preparation and settlement discussions.
• Offer on‑site ER support for high‑risk or urgent issues, often at short notice.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering commercially focused ER advice on complex cases.
• Track record of managing Employment Tribunal cases.
• Experience working with trade unions and handling dispute resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to create and deliver ER‑related training.
• Strong influencing, presentation and communication skills.
• Highly organised with excellent planning and analytical abilities.
• Resilient and adaptable in a fast‑moving environment.
