Employer Engagement Officer – Sustainable Communities

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Business & Partnerships Officer to join our Sustainable Communities team in Blackburn. The role focuses on building strong relationships with local employers to secure employment, training and work placement opportunities for our community members.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage key employer and partner relationships.
• Maintain employer engagement management information and reporting.
• Build influential links with employer coalitions, chambers of commerce and representative bodies.
• Design and deliver employer programmes and engagement activities.
• Broker work experience and supported‑employment opportunities for programme participants.
• Collaborate with the Employment & Skills team to align candidate routes with labour‑market needs.
• Support recruitment processes and assist in delivering new and existing employment projects.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Proven track record of employer engagement and relationship management with measurable results.
• Experience developing and delivering employer programmes.
• Ability to work effectively with statutory and non‑statutory organisations.
• Strong understanding of local business needs and community services.
