Employment Adviser – Support Long‑Term Unemployed

About the role

As an Employment Adviser you will work on the front line of Reed in Partnership, helping long‑term unemployed jobseekers overcome barriers and move into sustainable work. You will also promote the Restart Scheme and build relationships with local employers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of long‑term unemployed participants, identify barriers and create personalised action plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one guidance including CV writing, interview preparation and skills development.
• Meet and exceed performance targets and KPIs.
• Collaborate with participants to build confidence and shift mindsets toward employment.
• Engage local employers to source job opportunities.
• Signpost participants to internal and external services for health, housing or financial issues.
• Promote the Restart Scheme within the community to raise awareness of its benefits.

Required profile

• Experience in a customer‑facing role (e.g., customer service, hospitality, social care, sales).
• Ability to coach, mentor and influence participants.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
• Willingness to travel locally to meet customers and employers.
• Minimum of 2 A‑Levels or equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
• GCSE English Language at least Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification).
